Ando Raises $20 Million in Funding

Ando has secured $20 million in pre-seed and seed funding to develop a team messaging platform designed for collaboration between humans and AI agents. The funding round included investments from Accel, Index Ventures, and Emergence.

Founder Sara Du, who previously assisted companies in building MCP servers in 2025, aims to create a solution that addresses the limitations of existing platforms like Slack and Microsoft Teams. Du stated, "The deeper I went, the more I felt Slack and Teams were built for a world that was starting to pass us by."

Currently, Ando is working with customers across 15 countries, indicating a broad international interest in their approach. Du believes that AI agents can enhance team productivity, claiming, "I think agents will let very small teams operate at a scale that previously required hundreds of people." She also noted that agents could manage communication more effectively than humans, processing a higher volume of messages in less time.

This development follows a trend in the industry where AI integration into team communication tools is becoming increasingly prevalent, as seen with recent enhancements in platforms like YouTube Studio and OpenAI's ChatGPT mobile app. The announcement of Ando's platform will be showcased at the Disrupt event in San Francisco from October 13 to 15.
