Apple Intelligence Features on Mac Can Be Disabled in macOS 27

Apple has introduced the ability to turn off its Intelligence features, including Siri AI (Beta), in macOS 27 Golden Gate. Users can disable these features across several applications, including Messages, Mail, Phone, and Journal. This functionality is also available in earlier macOS versions, Tahoe 26 and Sequoia 15.

The Apple User Guide states that users can restrict access to various Apple Intelligence features, which include summarization capabilities and other AI-driven functionalities. Notably, the availability of Apple Intelligence features is limited by language and regional settings, meaning not all users will have access to these features.

This update follows previous enhancements to Siri, which was revamped to utilize Google's Gemini technology, although that version remains unavailable in the EU. The ability to disable these features provides users with greater control over their privacy and device usage, particularly in light of increasing concerns regarding AI and data security.
