Black Forest Labs Launches FLUX 3 Action

On September 24, 2026, Black Forest Labs introduced FLUX 3 Action, an open robotics AI model featuring 7 billion parameters. This model is designed to enhance robotics performance, achieving a speed that is 3.95 times faster than the previous best open model.

FLUX 3 Action is a multimodal model trained on video, image, and audio data, addressing the limitations of large reasoning models that are often too slow and bulky for effective robotic deployment. As stated by Black Forest Labs, “Large reasoning models can plan well, but they're often too slow and too bulky for robots, making this kind of efficiency critical for on-device deployment.”

The model weights for FLUX 3 Action are available on Hugging Face, facilitating easier access for developers and researchers. Additionally, FLUX 3 Action is expected to compete on the RoboLab-120 leaderboard, which ranks various robotics models.
