Cognition's Devin platform has achieved FedRAMP Class D (High) In-Process status, enabling its use by federal agencies. Key users include the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, all of which are leveraging Devin for autonomous software engineering tasks. The platform, which includes Devin Desktop and CLI, has demonstrated significant cost efficiency, with independent benchmarking showing it operates at 30% lower cost per finding compared to alternatives. Additionally, fleets of Devins can upgrade legacy software 5-40 times faster than human engineers, enhancing productivity in critical defense and enterprise applications. Other enterprises utilizing Devin include Goldman Sachs, Citi, Dell, and Mercedes-Benz. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency is involved in establishing AI security directives relevant to this technology, while the U.S. Office of Personnel Management is partnering in the U.S. Tech Force effort to integrate advanced AI solutions across government operations.
