Meta Acknowledges Muse's Design Inspired by OpenClaw

Meta's head of product at Superintelligence Labs, Nat Friedman, stated that the Muse app was "definitely heavily inspired as a product by OpenClaw." This admission follows Muse's rapid rise to the No. 1 ranking on the U.S. App Store, outpacing ChatGPT's initial launch in market availability.

Friedman, who joined Meta last year, noted that while Muse was built from scratch, the team believed that OpenClaw's creator, Peter Steinberger, had "got those things exactly right." This sentiment was echoed by Ansh Nanda, co-founder of the AI app, who remarked that "Muse is LITERALLY OpenClaw for normies."

Friedman emphasized the goal of Muse was to create a product similar to OpenClaw that is safe, secure, and scalable to billions of users. Additionally, a Muse AI agent confirmed that the similarity between its system files and those of OpenClaw was not merely a coincidence but rather a definitive match.

This development comes after OpenAI's acquisition of OpenClaw's creator earlier this year, marking a significant moment in the competitive landscape of AI applications.
